Day1 |
Bangkok – Cruise up Chao Phyra River – Bangsai Royal – Bang Pa In – Ayutthaya (L,D)

Depart Bangkok in the morning for a cruise on Chao Phyra River north to Bangsai Royal Folk Art and Crfats Centre (coffee and light snacks will be served on board). The centre is supported by the Queen to preserve various forms of traditional handicrafts and also to provide work for craftsmen. Here, You will also see one of the largest aquariums. Return to the boat for lunch as proceed onwards to Bang-Pa-In where the Summer Palace was built in the 16th century during the Ayuthaya period. The Palace buildings were constructed in three different styles: Thai, Chinese and Western. The tour will continue by road to Ayutthaya, the second capital of Thailand, built by King U-Thong in the 13th century. The dynasty ruled for 417 years and was destroyed by the Burmese. Visit to some of the famous temples including Wat Phra Si Sanphet, bronze Buddha statues Wat Yai Chai Mongkhol and Wat Chai Wattanaram. Today, you will at the Ayutthaya Krung Sri River Hotel and dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day2 |
Ayuttaya – Supanburi (B,L,D)
|
Visit to the Ayuthaya National Museum - a national research institute devoted to the study of Ayuthaya which exhibits the ancient excavations and the reconstruction of Ayuthaya’s past. Continue journey to Supanburi for the historical monument of King Naresuan who defeated the Crown Prince of Burma in 17th century followed by a visit to the Thai Farmers Museum, where rice farming development in Thailand are displayed. Here there will be information on changes in methods, techniques and technology used in the rice farming industry. As you know, rice farming is very important to the Thai people and you now have an opportunity to see how Thailand Jasmine rice is grown & processed. In the afternoon, you will be treated with a visit to a local Thai village where you will be able to see the farmers going about their daily chores and the opportunity to explore & walk around the village. Dinner and overnight in Suphanburi.

Day3 |
Supanburi - Kanchanaburi (B,L) |
Following breakfast, proceed to the Thai Farmer’s Village to learn more about how farmers used their water buffaloes to helped rice farming in the olden days. You will also see the different steps to rice farming and get a chance to try it; from the planting stages to the harvesting to the husking. It will be an interesting learning experience. Then proceed to Kanchanaburi where the Second World War memorials are located. Lunch will be served en-route at a local restaurant before proceeding to Hellfire Pass Museum. Here, see an impressive display and history of the horrors during the Second World War. Many prisoners-of-war died while working on the Death Railway in 1943 and this was one of most difficult segments of the railway to connect Burma. Take a boat ride along the River Kwai to check-in at the Jungle Raft - a unique floating raft hotel. Enjoy the scenery of the river view outside your room or take a walk about the Mon village. Here, you learn about their tribal lifestyle, culture and also visit to the children’s school. The Mons are an indigenous group of Burmese people. Walk about the gardens and see the various fresh produce of vegetables, fruits and herbal plants that will be used for dinner. There is also a tribal dance and performance after dinner. For your comfort and stay, overnight at Jungle Raft Hotel.

Day4 |
Kanchanaburi (B,L,D) |
Transfer by boat to explore a limestone cave. This cave has been formed over hundreds of years and you can now see the different types of shapes and columns formed by the crystals and erosion. Then continue to the Resotel Resort where you can enjoy these activities for the day : mountain biking, canoeing, and strolling through the herbal garden, cooking lessons, traditional Thai massage, and herbal steam bath. Dinner and overnight at the Jungle Raft Hotel.

Day5 |
Kanchanaburi - Bangkok (B) |
After breakfast, depart the Resotel Resort by boat and proceed to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Board the train for a journey along the original Death Railway across the bridge and passing over a wooden viaduct section built along the mountain. Your train ride will end at the bridge station and you can take a
walk across the bridge to where the bus will be waiting. The last stop will be the War Cemetery where more than 6000 prisoners-of-war are buried. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Bangkok. |
